Types of Roofing
- ASPHALT SHINGLES
Asphalt is far and away the most popular and widely-used home roofing material. Shingles typically come in 30-, 40-, 50-year or even lifetime warranties available. 30-year shingles have a dimensional or architectural look with excellent curb appeal. 50-year shingles and higher are considered specialty shingles and recommended as an upgrade to consider.
- METAL ROOFING
There are three general categories of metal roof systems used for steep-slope roofing applications: architectural metal panel, structural metal panel and metal shingle/shingle panels. Generally, architectural metal panel roof systems are water shedding and are intended for use on steep slope roofs. Structural metal panel roof systems are used on low and steep slope roofs. Structural metal panel roof systems can be used on low slope roofs because of their hydrostatic, or water barrier, characteristics.
- SLATE ROOFING
Slate quarried for roofing stock is of dense, sound rock and exceedingly tough and durable. A Slate Roof can last a century, giving excellent long-term value, in contrast to other types of manufactured roofing which must be re-roofed three or four times within this same period
- SYNTHETIC SLATE
- FLAT ROOFING
EPDM flat roof system is a synthetic rubber membrane that is supplied literally in 10’ to 20’ widths to minimize seams. EPDM stands for ETHYLENE PROPYLENE DIENE MONOMER. EPDM rubber membranes are suitable for flat or slightly pitched roofs residential or commercial. The benefits of EPDM rubber are: Superior Durability and Longevity. It also offers unmatched resistance to ozone, UV radiation, extremes of low and high temperatures, and ultimately ageing. These flat roof systems can be installed with different kinds of methods depending on the building’s use or the owner’s choice.
